Music Notes + Twitter Review of Big K.R.I.T.’s Most Recent Album #AStyleNotQuiteFree 💿👑 (Love, an O.G. #K4L fan)

I’d developed a friendly envy of the kids in my high school who were a part of our band, and had the opportunity to be around so much good music 24/7 pretty much being that I attended a huge band school, where many of the students went on to receive full band scholarships to go on and perform with HBCU Bands.

I remember watching Southern University's band perform New Edition ‘Can You Stand the Rain’ . It’s a - if not, damn near - classic performance, where Kyla (I can’t remember her last name, but she was gorgeous as hell) was the Senior Captain. all my #HBCUbandheads know very well wtf I’m going on about.

Point is, I wish i could’ve fit band in my schedule because music is what made me fall in love with my high school and though i did play piano by ear at one point, no piano in band and dancing was absolutely out of the question in my household.

Big KRIT was one of the first underground artist I kind of stumbled across on my own. From there, I became a huge fan of who he is as an artist, lyricist/life storyteller, and overall human being. His approach to music was hella humble, yet raw af at the same time.

But I digress.

I brought up band kids, mainly because they were the only ones who paid my man’s respect! ((Lol shoutout to thee #NCAT crew: Asher, B , D-lo, Kev DC asses for putting me on to the term “Mans”))

For those of you who already follow me on Twitter, especially ones who have been rockin with me for a while know how big of a fan I am. You may have already seen my brief notes of Big KRIT’s xx studio album + latest project, #AStyleNotQuiteFree. However, if you haven’t, well…here it goes again. You’re welcome.

+ AT #GHOE  I CAN ONLY HOPE THE #NCATBlueAndGoldMarchingMachine, ((hell even #Southern )) at least considers playing #BANKS by @BigKRIT @ the hc game. Man… a Southern Delicacy. Yum.

Assuming that there will even be a #GHOE this year… #highkeyoverit #itbeingpandemicshit 

Anyway. I digress.

Subway brought me to literal tears 

“…Thinkin’ back when Gramma used to give me all those lectures / now that i am older I can see from her perspective/ that Money don’t buy love or happiness or heaven, blessings…”

And the thoughts I have on ‘Screw It’ - @BIGKRIT might be too inappropriate for the internet.mm. (My inner hood rat/stripper vixen in my past life )”type vibe  but um…. 

It’s the the violin on #GameTime (…and that bass guitar drop in at 1:30 on #Easy)…chef’s kiss, sweet touch.  

I never know whether this is bias or not,…being a huge fan and all…but…

Yet another flawless project for @bigkrit, in my musical opinion. Job well done.
